Want to help with the BayCon Masquerade?

Hi everyone --

As you may know, Andy (bovil) and I are the Masquerade Directors for BayCon and Westercon this year.

If you are attending Baycon and would like to help with the masquerade, we can probably use your assistance.

The committee has asked that everyone who volunteers for us fill out their gopher volunteer forms (which include necessary liability releases) and so we've worked out the following procedure:

1) Email and both explaining that you wish to be a dedicated masquerade gopher. (If you want to be a general volunteer and help with the masquerade, you can of course do that. It is still important that you email us at the masquerade address so we know to request you on our list of masquerade volunteers). If there are particular things you have experience with or want to help with, be sure to mention them in your email.

2) When you arrive at the convention, after registering and getting your badge, be sure to go to "gopher central" to fill out the volunteer paperwork. This makes sure you get proper credit for your volunteer hours, and will help them with future planning by giving them an accurate estimate of the volunteer resources needed by the masquerade.

If for some reason we can't use your talents we won't keep you in suspense and will let you know asap. Before the convention starts, I will submit a list with the names of masquerade volunteers to make sure I get the folks who've volunteered for us. If you can arrive early enough to help us with masquerade registration on Friday and Saturday, be sure to mention that in your email. In addition, there will be a masquerade orientation early Saturday afternoon that it would be helpful for you to attend.

Thanks in advance!
